SEO Trials

It is possible to use SEO automatic checkers and this was done with several free offerings,  but the results were so varied and highlighted so many issues that it seemed to make sense to use a manual check that might happen in real life.

A series of initial  keyword searches were undertaken using an incognito window on a Chrome browser using Google search, Firefox with Yahoo and Edge with Bing.  Some keywords were kept within quotes, all were found on the SlideWiki.org platform site. When the keyword 'slidewiki' is used it is found at least 50 times by Google Chrome when searching in a private or  incognito mode and when using the terms  'slidewiki + a slide deck title' not only is the deck found but images of the slides are also shown.   However when using terms that may be found on the home pages results are more variable as SlideWiki is up against stiffer competition such as MIT opencourseware that has considerable funding and has been online since 2001 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIT_OpenCourseWare)

Table 1 shows the results in terms of their placement in the list of results on 19/12/2018 and 03/01/2019 in brackets
