The SlideWiki development team uses the Lazy Consensus method for decision making. The process is the following:

  1. A proposal to the community is initiated by sending a mail to the SlideWiki Developer’s List which has “#proposal” as prefix to the title e.g.:

“#Proposal to use lazy consensus for decision making”

    The mail includes:
    - a detailed description of what the proposal will change
    - the steps that must be done in order to achieve this
    - the reasons why the project would benefit from the proposed change

  2. The proposal is accepted if no objection against it is pending after 72 hours.

  3. Objections to a proposal are send to list as an answer to the proposal mail:
    - the mail starts with “-1” in the first line
    - the mail states in detail why the proposal should not be implemented

  4. An objection can only be retracted by the person who raised it. The objection is retracted by sending an answer to the proposal thread stating that the objection has been resolved.
