Model for objects within slides

Model for objects within slides

Background

Slide content needs to be converted between different file formats. We need to support importing from common slide formats; authoring within SW; exporting to common presentation formats; exporting to other formats (e.g. epub3); view slide content in presentation mode.

In order to ensure the objects within slides retain properties and are editable would it be appropriate to map objects within a slide to either an existing ontology/schema for slide content (e.g. OOXML or odg) or create a data model. Or it could be based on metadat such as the Dublic Core schema.

This has been raised in D2.1 - page 14 states:
"From our point of view a slide can be seen as a document containing knowledge and specific representations (Text, multimodal content). Thus slides could be at the graph level. Another possibility is that every whole SlideWiki instance represents a graph or every instances handles different graphs (e.g. a graph for each: slides, contributors, statistics, media files). This is an unsettled topic."

As we need to ensure interoperability between the basic import-author-present-export functions we are building now I thought it was important to raise this now.
