From discussion during Madrid Plenary
- Email to original SlideWiki users - Abi James and & Benjamin Wulff
- Migrate content - Darya Tarasowa and Benjamin Wulff
- Testing during plenary - to Testing - and a few dozen decks to experimental Darya Tarasowa and Benjamin Wulff
- Somewhat related - data from stable to experimental Benjamin Wulff
- Migrate images - in original slidewiki.org each user had its own folder. - Roy Meissner - the new system is backwards compatible to the folder structure. Of course, if we use backward compatibility we won't be able to use the new features (like licenses).
- What about absolute URLs pointing to images? - will work - we need to prepend (+ -) existing (relative) URLs with the fileservice URL - needs to be in script made by Darya Tarasowa
- Actual task of copying files is not done by Darya Tarasowa - will delegate this. → This is just copy and pasting a folders content
- Testing during plenary - to Testing - and a few dozen decks to experimental Darya Tarasowa and Benjamin Wulff
- SEO + migration - Kostis Pristouris
- Spam prevention - Darya Tarasowa - Wikipage on Spam Prevention Strategy
- Script to regenerate Thumbnails - also for existing content (old thumbnails not shown on stable, unless you save - reported in - SWIK-1259Getting issue details... STATUS ) - following discussion Soledad Valero, Dejan Paunović, Roy Meissner, Klaas Andries de Graaf during Madrid breakout
Proposed Migration process (from meeting with Benjamin Wulff, Klaas Andries de Graaf, Abi James 31/5/17)
Decisions:
Week Commencing (w/c) 5th June:
- update testing.slidewiki.org and then migrate user accounts and decks from SW1 to trial process
- email existing SW1 users inform them that update is coming soon and process
w/c 12th June - Hackathon
w/c 19th June - update testing.slidewiki.org from experimental. Then testing features/bug fixes
w/c 26th June
- Merge decks and migration testing
Trial partners will need to say which decks from stable.slidewiki.org that they want on slidewiki.org (but they can continue to use stable). NB ids may change (where they are duplicated of decks from SW1) but usernames will stay they same
3rd July SlideWiki.org 2.0 goes live
Stable.slidewiki.org will only be for testing / latest updates
Need:
List of usernames and email addresses Benjamin Wulff to collate for Abi James
- Link format for existing users to access their profile or decks … e.g. https://slidewiki.org/user/eadraffan
What happens to links to decks on SW1.0? SW1 URLS should have # in the URL so we should be able to detect if a URL was for an old deck. We plan to maintain deck IDs as far as possible. Kostis Pristouris Benjamin Wulff to discuss further
Where will archived version on SW 1.0 be going…. .e.g. Old.sidewiki.org ….. Needs to decide if this will be locked for creating/editing new content. If we feel there are critical features missing from SW2,0 then we can leave it available until further features are released
