I suggest a comment or tooltip in the UI on the form label.
Identified during EU review.
This selection mechanism is one of the few ways of making it accessible as far as I understood (@Abi James do you agree?), so it would be hard to replace with a mechanism that is both accessible and more usable.
Also: I think this is low priority as people select their language on sign-up (which is usable I think) and normally do not change it afterwards.
